A Provocative Student Film on Race
February 8, 2007
Everyone once in awhile a fresh young voice comes along and says important things that older folks have stopped talking about. I encourage everyone to take a look at A Girl Like Me, an 8-minute video which was a senior project by a New York City high school student. I showed the film to an education seminar at Georgetown Law last fall, where it provoked a lively conversation. I cried, but I guess I’m easy. If the video moves you, also check out this excellent local news story about the artist and the film.
